Edify Hub

The hub is your portal to everything Edify related. Through here you can access Edify including any lessons you have prepared, standalone Edify lessons, your account profile page or Edify quick start guides and upcoming or past events.

When you first access the Edify launcher you'll be asked to log in using your Edify account. If you have not yet created an Edify account, you can press the "register here" button to create one. You can also recover your password using the forgot username or password link.

Upon opening the hub you will appear on the homepage where you can see important links to support documents and Edify updates. On the left side above the menu bar is a button labelled profile, which will take you to a login page on the Edify member site.

Once logged in you can access your profile details, virtual avatar, and billing options. The Edify teacher tab is where you can download and update Edify, the place to create or play VR and desktop experiences.

My library is the location of all your previously created or installed experiences. You can also find any content you have downloaded from the Edify library or any lessons that have been shared with you. Edify library is the library of experiences created by our own team for you to download and install onto your device.

Release notes is where you can find information and guidance on the latest updates of both the launcher and the lesson creator.

Events is where you can view any past or upcoming events you have been invited to, or where you can create your own.

Edify Library

Edify library is the location of experiences created by our team for you to download and install them onto your device. Some of these are standalone executables that have been developed and others have been created in Edify.

An example created in Edify is the art of the burn supper experience, where you can experience the sites and sounds of a Burns supper, or step into the setting of one of Robert burns' poems.

Click on one of the experiences to bring up more information on it and click download to add it to your library. It can then be launched from there or found within the standalone tab in the My Library section.

Lesson Sharing - Create

Lessons can be shared with individuals that are part of your organisation or publicly. To share a lesson, locate the lesson under My Library and click upload. When you click accept on the prompt, the lesson will take a few minutes to upload and then once done, will appear with a blue tag stating that it is ready to share.

From there you can click share and change the permissions or copy the share code. Somethings are important to note; firstly, you are unable to make changes to the uploaded lesson once it has been uploaded. And second, anyone you share the lesson to can create an event from that lesson, but they will not be able to make changes or save a new version of the lesson.

Lesson Sharing - Play

To add a lesson that you have been shared the code of, go to the share tab within my library and input the code into the field. If you receive an error, make sure that the owner of the lesson has set the permissions to the appropriate option.

For instance, you won't be able to add a lesson that is set to organisation only if you are not also within that organisation.

Events - Create

You can now schedule multiplayer events in Edify, which allow multiple people to join in the same lesson as you. To create an event first upload the lesson to the cloud. Then go to the events tab in the launcher and click create new. From there, fill in the relevant information and add a lesson to the event.

Choose whether the event is public or private. In a private event, only members of your organization can be invited and in public events, anyone with an account can be invited. Type in a title and description. Then attach the lesson to an event. If you don't see the lesson in the dropdown list, double check it has the correct permissions. You can also add any tags to your event and then add the email addresses of the people you would like to invite to the event.

Please make sure the people you invite have an Edify account before adding them. Or they won't be able to join. Once you've clicked create event, the event will appear in your upcoming events list.

Events - Join

To join an Edify event, the event should appear in your upcoming events list in the hub. And you can either pre-download content, or join the event from there.

We recommend you pre-download the content in plenty of time before the event.

If you're not seeing an event that you think you should please get in touch with the event host to make sure the event type and invite list is accurate.
