edify Boards

The edify Screen lets you display and annotate any of your 2D media. You can create a board via "+Board" button in the "Objects" tab on the "Lectern" panel, or select 2D media from the same tab to add to the board direct. create If you missed the guide on the lectern panel, you can find it here.

The board itself is controlled through the "Options" button, top left.

Use the whiteboard tools to write or draw on the board. You can also annotate your own uploaded content from images to PDFs. A tray will appear along the bottom side of the board when you toggle "Tools". You can pick up 5 coloured pens with your cursor or VR controller. You can adjust the position of the pen using the up, down, left and right buttons on your controller.

Use the eraser to remove small mistakes or if you'd like to start again, select the "Clear" button. To record your work, hit "Save".

To open a particular piece of media, select the "Open File" button. Here, your content is organised into file types - images, PDFs, video, audio and websites. On selection, the panel will confirm whether the media is already in the lesson. To add more files, use the "Import file" button on the "Object" tab of the "Lectern" panel.

You have two options to display your media. Either "Open" the file, which will display the file directly on your current board. Or select "Pop out", which will add the media to a new board beside the existing one.

The edify boards also functions as a view from a Teams or Zoom window. Press the "Conference" button, and select whichever conference software is appropriate for you. As both Teams and Zoom have multiple windows, you can cycle through them using the arrows at the bottom.

If you need more information on how to install or prepare your Teams or Zoom software for broadcasting, check out our software installation and setup guides.

In desktop mode, you can use the "Transform" button to help you move and position the boards. You can then select between Move, Scale, and Rotate.

If you have content on your current screen that you wish to show on multiple screens, you can use the "Duplicate Screen" button, and select the appropriate screens to duplicate content to.

When you are finished with your board, select "Remove board" to completely remove it from the Lesson.

Open Media

You can open 2D content through two routes. The first is by selecting the content directly through the Object tab on the Lectern panel, as described above. This will open up a fresh edify Board with the content displayed.

To open content on an already existing board, you can use the Open Media button. Here, you can select between Images, PDFs, Videos, Websites and also any of your broadcast cameras. For a more in-depth look at working with different types of content, try our 2D Content guide.

Conference

Our Conference setting on the edify Boards enables you to see your conferencing window (Teams, Zoom, etc) from within your edify lesson. We're aware trying to present to or interact with people you can't see can be a little daunting, and through this we're able to return a bit of familiarity to your lesson space.

To use, ensure your conference window is open and maximised, with Gallery View selected. Then, select it from the list of available conference tools on your edify Board.

Note that this requires a few settings changes for both Teams and Zoom - you can find information on that setup here.

Transform

The Transform option is available in desktop only - this is how you move and position your edify board where you'd like it to be.

When selected, you can choose between three options - move, scale and rotate. Each of these will create a different manipulation tool within the centre of the board, with Red, Blue and Green components, representing each of the X, Y and Z axes.

Use your mouse to grab on one of the components, and drag it around to cause the board to move.

When you press "Duplicate Board", you'll get a list of the other existing boards within your scene. Your currently selected board will be greyed out as an option. To copy your content to a new board, simply select that board from the list.
